A typical class would consist of:
- An initial relaxation period followed by a short movement meditation. At times, this movement meditation may be accompanied by a chant.
- Once our body and mind are ready for practice, we start awakening and warming up the body
- That leads on to more cardio-vascular vinyasas (choreographed series of asanas/postures), whose levels increase as the class evolves. Depending on the time of day and the energy of the students, these vinyasas may involve arm balances and inversions
- We then slowly cool down the body by practicing more flexibility based asanas/postures, to eventually allow the body to enjoy a final relaxation
Camille’s classes are challenging but suitable for all levels of participants, with modifications given of all postures for those who are less-experienced. Each element of the practice is taught playfully and generously, with the primary focus being the well being and safety of the student.
Yoga and pregnancy:
Yoga is the ideal exercise programme both during and after pregnancy, helping mothers to keep fit and calm for childbirth. It is now highly recommended by doctors and health professionals.
Drawing from her experience as a mum, Camille's Yoga and Pregnancy classes emphasise deep relaxation, concentration and breath awareness, to create a class that is both fun and very useful for mums to be.
Creative Yoga / Yoga for performers:
As an dancer and artist, Camille trained with such pioneers as Pearl Lang at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance and Louise Burns at the Cunningham Studios in New York.
Her professional background as a dance performer (Royal Opera Ballet, Young Vic Theatre Company, etc.) enables Camille to specifically design Yoga Classes for Performers that will enhance both the creative and physical potential of each student.
